Working with Sara as my daughter and I began our breastfeeding journey was a Godsend. I was referred to Sara's care through the Lactation Network, a service recommended by the lactation consultant from the NICU. Our daughter was born three weeks early and at a severely low birth weight, so we knew that continued lactation consultation was a must after discharge. Sara reached out by text to schedule our first appointment and immediately put me at ease. Her kindness and professionalism were apparent from the onset. For each of our visits, Sara came to our home, masked and with a scale. Not only did she confirm that we were on the right track weight wise between doctor's visits, but she also provided invaluable guidance on a range of issues--from oversupply to easing off the pump to our baby's head shape. Sara always went the extra mile, whether it was a Saturday night chat to put me at ease about something between consultations or a last minute schedule change due to the unpredictable eating schedule of our newborn. As our daughter continues to grow and my supply has adjusted to her needs, Sara has remained a great source of wisdom during what can sometimes feel like a very lonely and scary journey. We are so grateful for Sara's care.

It was confirmed at my 2-day follow up appointment that Uriah had lost too much weight and it was clear by my excessive crying (the joy of the baby blues) that I could use some extra help from a lactation consultant.
That evening, post my appointment, Sara reached out to me and kindly introduced herself and became immediately available for support. I instantly felt cared for! After 1-2 visits of her modeling various positions we could use, things slowly but surely got better. Sara was with me and US along the entire journey and the plethora of question asking. Never once did I feel stupid or alone.
Uriah is now almost 5 months old and he's a breastfeeding champ! We are still a bit clumsy in public but we don't nurse a lot outside of the home and I'm just thrilled it no longer feels like a HUGE production to feed him. It feels natural...I finally know what it feels like to connect so sweetly with him...in a manner no other person on this earth can do. What a beautiful joy!

“Sara was EXTREMELY helpful in the first several weeks of my daughter's life. As a first time mom, I was so stressed about not getting my baby to latch. Sara reached out and provided support via text (I was too tired to figure out scheduling a phone call!). She was flexible with appointments, and gave me a specific plan to get a good latch and alleviate my engorgement. Words can't describe the relief my husband and I felt after that first appointment! She was even able to successfully diagnose a nursing strike over the phone when my daughter was three months old. Sara always followed up and provided support even beyond our appointments.
